Hey, it’s Luke from Unwritten Tomes.
This week’s topic – dreams and ambitions. Why you shouldn’t bury them and what happens if you forget to nurture them.
Important announcement! I’m thinking of changing the angle of this newsletter. Instead of fictional stories, I would report on stories of real people who achieved impressive things – telling stories of the difficulties they faced, how they managed to overcome them, and what can we learn from them.
If that sounds interesting to you, it would be incredibly valuable to me if you could let me know by responding to this email.

A boy who planted his dreams in the forest
“What will my dreams grow into?” a boy wondered.
So he closed his dream gently into a seed, and pressed it into the ground.
He did the same thing every day for a month. Every time he came back home with a smile on his face.
After the month passed, he went on with his life. Going to school, helping his parents, waiting patiently to collect his harvest.
10 years down the line, he was ready to leave the town. He was supposed to travel to a faraway city. But before he left, he returned to the patch of dirt where he left his dreams.
He came with a basket, ready to harvest the fruits. But instead of a forest of dreams he was looking for, all he found were weeds of regret.
The seeds he planted were left untended. Their growth halted by the lack of care.
Your dreams won’t grow on their own. Left untended, they’ll wither away.
Taking care of your dreams
Most of us love spending time imagining what it would be like to fulfill our dreams. But a lot of times, those dreams simply sit at the back of our heads – collecting dust.
You can’t just sit passively and wait for them to grow (I covered a similar topic, “waiting for the perfect moment,” a couple issues ago.)
Growing your dreams takes a lot of time and a lot of care. You have to remember to water them every single day. But they CAN grow into beautiful trees that provide you with delicious fruit.
Or if you put in enough work, then who knows… Maybe you’ll manage to grow an entire forest.
Quick reminder: let me know what you think about my announcement. Would you like this newsletter to share real stories of inspiring people, or do you want it to stay like it is right now?
